What to Prepare
- Take a clear photo of the main electrical panel with the panel schedule visible.
- Take a photo of the proposed charger location, including the wall, parking position, and any obstructions.
- Estimate the distance from the electrical panel to the charger location.
- Confirm whether the charger will be indoors, outdoors, in a garage, on a driveway, or near a carport.
- Note the charger model, if already purchased, including Tesla Wall Connector or universal Level 2 charger.
- List any other planned electrical additions, including a generator, second EV, hot tub, workshop, remodel, or HVAC upgrade.
- Check whether HOA, landlord, property manager, or building approval may be required.
- Tell the electrician whether fast maximum charging or reliable overnight charging is the practical goal.
